Wednesday is always a day for featured music around here, but it seems this week we simply could not fit in everything we wanted to. So instead of trying to wait an fit all these new song into a column in future weeks, we've decided to unload a bunch of them here at once.
We haven't had time to properly listen and review some the stuff below, but we at least wanted to get it out there while its still hot. If something strikes your fancy, please let us tell us about it and leave a comment below.
The Technicolor Void "Can't Hold Me Down"
New Dubstep-flavored hip-hop track from TTV posted online today. Head on over and download it at Reverbnation and make sure to check them out live Jan. 26 at Senor Frog's.
100 Proof "Stoppin' Mine"
Hot track by a local MC repped by our friend Kelly Kel. Check out this and a few other tracks on Kelly Kel Promotions Soundcloud page.
Fudda "Existence Precedes Essence 2nd Cut"
Local dubstep DJ Leath Miller (aka Fudda) offered up this work-in-progress recently via Soundcloud. Electronic fans check it out and give the man some feedback for God's sakes.
Bonaparte "I Am Not Your Doormat"
Murrells Inlet musician Joe Suthers has been working on an acoustic project called Bonaparte and recently put out this self-produced, self-titled release. While it's a little rough around the edges, the songs are pretty well written and filled with teen-angsty titles such as "I Am Not Your Doormat," "Here's to What We Never Were," and of course, "He's Fucking All Of My Friends."
Download the album for free here.
Salvdor "You Don't Know Me" feat. Enygma
The Conway MC recently shared a "new" mixtape, a collection of tracks from 2010 that he had lost and now found and released called "On Deaf Ears." Haven't listened to but a few tracks, but what we've heard sounds good, especially "You Don't Know Me" which carries a definite Eminem/D-12 vibe.
Download "On Deaf Ears" here for free.
Jestadub - "The Break Through"
Here's the latest offering from Tyler Hinkleman, a local artist and DJ who goes by Jestah and Surora. Check out his dubstep work above and then come out and see his mixed media, grafitti art on Feb. 4 at Drink! during the Transcend art show.
Hear more of his music here at Soundcloud.
