The Legends in Concert Theater will contain 600 seats and its innovative design will create an intimate concert space unique to the Myrtle Beach marketplace, where no seat is more than 50 feet from the stage.
"For 15 years, we've heard guests of Legends in Concert in this market comment about how much they'd like to see the aesthetics of the venue that hosts our performances match the extraordinary level of talent we bring to the stage every night,” said Chris Beattie, regional general manager for Legends in Concert. “We've assembled an experienced team of designers and construction crews who will help us reach and surpass our goal. Due to the design of the new theater, every seat will have a superior view.”
Legends in Concert has awarded the renovation's more than $1 million construction contract to the Conway-based Chancel Builders, Inc., which has constructed many high-profile projects locally, including the new 200-foot SkyWheel ferris wheel.
The interior demolition is complete and constructions crews are now rapidly framing the interior walls and pouring the concrete for the theater's slope seating. Construction is scheduled to conclude in early March.
“We feel quite honored to be chosen to enhance the home of a world-class production like Legends in Concert,” said McKenzie Jordan, president of Chancel Builders, Inc. “Our team is excited to take on such a unique project that is sure to grow in popularity with its new location in the heart of Myrtle Beach.”
