iTunes never lies: Top 30 of 2010 by play count

I've been thinking long and hard about trying to put together a list of my favorite songs from 2010. I don't know if it's just too hard to quantify the best music I've heard this year or whether I just don't feel like people really care, but either way I just hadn't pulled the trigger.

So today, I realized time has basically run out on this desire and figured instead of listing my favorite songs in my own opinion, I'd go straight to the source and check my iTunes play counts, because as you well know, iTunes never lies. LOL. Besides, I thought listing off these is probably a more accurate account of what I actually listened to anyway.

It may not be the most precise measure, as I had to format a HD early in the year and the counts got boosted a bit when I bought an iPad in April, but overall I think it's a decent representation. I've omitted duplicate bands, but you can pretty much assume most bands listed here had multiple songs at the top of the list. So take a glance, and if you get a chance go and check your own iTunes count and see if the raw figures reflect what you thought you were really into this year:
