About this time around the holidays last year, I set out to a party with my wife to a friends house. When I got there I was surprised to see what they were doing with their old desktop computer. They were letting Youtube to DJ their party, running back and forth after each song to switch to another. While using the CPU to function like a jukebox is nothing new, I hadn't seen it done quite that frenetically before.
Luckily, Youtube smartly caught on to this usage of their site long ago and created a playlist function that allows you to add multiple music videos to a list that can then play in succession. Meaning, with just a little planning you can still use the site to DJ your holiday or New Year's party without all the hassle of running back and forth between the CPU and whatever you're doing.
And because we know Christmas Eve can often be one of the most hectic days of the year, getting things ready for the big day, we've gone ahead and done the work for you.
ListenUp has created a 12-song playlist of some of the best "New for 2010" Christmas music from various pop, rock and other popular artists. We've tried to keep it pretty mainstream with tracks from artists such as Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Coldplay, The Killers, etc., So hit play below and let it run in the background while you while you work to get the last-minute wrapping done or whatever else you've got going on.
ENJOY AND HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!
