Calling all local musicians!
As a service to the music community Myrtle Beach Musicians Network (MUNET), Fresh Brewed Coffeehouse and ListenUp Myrtle Beach are planning to host a series of live music showcases designed to help local players and bands find seasonal work and craft promotional packages. Dates for the events are yet to be determined, but they will take place in January and February at Fresh Brewed, 933-A Broadway St., Myrtle Beach.
During these showcases, the not-for-profit MUNET will arrange for a number of bar, restaurant and venue owners, managers, and other individuals responsible for purchasing live entertainment for their corporate and private events to be present. In addition, all participants will be encouraged to invite prospective music venue owners/managers to view their performances.
In addition, ListenUp and others will be on hand to assist in the creation of digital press kits and other materials that are a must for groups and individuals seeking musical employment. Kits will contain the following:
1. Professionally-edited video
2. Color & B&W photos
3. High quality audio recording
4. Professionally written band/individual "cover sheets" (if needed)
MUNET is currently working to negotiate group prices to keep artist costs to a minimum. The costs will be directly dependent upon the number of acts involved (i.e. The more people to participate, the less you pay.) All funds generated in this project will go directly to cover the costs.
