Each week we take a look at the full slate of great shows and musical events on the Grand Strand and choose five to feature in our weekly ListenUpdate show. Here's a look at this week's events:
1. MOE. with Dangermuffin

Longtime jam rockers moe. will bring their improvisational skills and high-energy live act to the House of Blues for a show that's sure to be unique. Supporting will be S.C. band Dangermuffin who will make the trip north from Folly Beach for their first performance at the NMB venue. 2. Death of Paris

Columbia-based electro pop outfit Death of Paris will return home to Myrtle Beach with a pair of shows Friday and Saturday. Friday night's show will also feature local rockers Psych Ward and Saturday's acoustic set will include the Drew Jacobs band. 3. The Leigh Glass Band
When | Sunday 8-9 p.m.
Where | Pawleys Island Tavern, 10635 Ocean Hwy, Pawleys Island
Making the trip from Asheville, N.C., one of the PITs favorite bands will perform at the south end spot Sunday. Female blues troubadour Leigh Glass fronts this band with a southern gothic vibe and plenty of great riffs and instrumentation. 4. Carolina Beach Music Awards Weekend
When | Awards show is Sunday at 3 p.m., events going on all weekend
Where | Alabama Theater and throughout North Myrtle Beach
How Much | Awards show tickets are $38-68, weekend passes are $50
The 16th annual Carolina Beach Music Awards are here and along with the show on Sunday comes a full weekend packed with great activities for shaggers and fans of the genre. The action kicked off Wednesday and continues tonight with performances at many of Main Street's famous beach clubs, along with a Pig Pickin' fundraiser and showcase on Saturday and a fan-freindly band fair on Sunday. 5. Marathon for Meals
When | Noon to 7 p.m. Saturday
Where | Broadway at the Beach, Celebrity Square stage
How Much | Free to attend, attendees are asked to bring canned foods
This 8th annual event hosted by Wave 104.1's Scott Mann is a food drive and fundraiser for the Community Kitchen of Myrtle Beach and Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach. In addition to being for a good cause, there will be some great local music from Sick Stooges, My Buddy Todd and Vega.
