Hometown: Pawleys Island
Members: Doc Simons (vocals, guitar, harmonica, mandolin), Daniel Simons (bass, vocals), Tony Maulden (drums, vocals) and Damon Bradley (keyboard)
Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, this Bluesman has spent more than 15 years in Pawleys Island.
He is experienced as a professional musician having played on a major label release by Jerry Jeff Walker in 1973, having done soundtrack work, played in bands with notable Blues musicians and having spent a few years on the road out west.
This family man is lucky enough to have his son — a talented young bassist in his own right — perform with the band and also incorpates his daughter on vocals from time to time.
Doc’s band plays a few originals and covers we hope are familiar, but not beat to death. It’s Blues and Classic Rock with a little Country/Folk/Americana thrown in the mix.
If you like The Band, Cream, Muddy Waters and other Chicago Blues, Hendrix, and Dylan, you’re likely to enjoy this band.
