    Crack song of the day

I keep finding myself getting addicted to random songs lately. OK, well probably not just lately...but I definitely noticed it happening more often recently. Basically ever since I got my first iPod like 4 years ago, I often forego the process of listening to whole albums and tend to get stuck seeking out one really great song over and over.

It's not to say that I never listen through an album, as I do let things play in the background while I'm working, but more often than not I am either hitting shuffle on my iPod or frantically searching track to track trying to find another of my favorite songs. I had an elaborate system of "smart playlists" set up for awhile organized by genre, mood, star ratings, etc. but sadly they were lost in a iPod crash and I didn't have to the fortitude to rebuild them.

Anyways, to my point...I download at least a few new albums per week and thus often find myself getting attached to a song off of a new album for a few days and then eventually forgetting about it and allowing it to slide back into my repetoire of tracks I'll listen to when I see them while browsing. And when I say I get attached, I mean I REALLY get attached...like for example I'll play the same song 4-5 times a day for 3 days in a row and then not listen to it again for a week or two.

It's really quite odd, but I think it somehow just reflects my formidable years of being part of the Napster generation and my undying urge to hear good, new music on a regular basis.

So since this is something I do quite often, I've decided when I catch one of these tunes that I listen to more than 3 times in a day I'm going to post them up as my "Crack song of the Day" (as in I'm addicted to crack...get it?)

I like to think I'm on the cutting edge and may be putting some good tracks out there that people haven't heard, but I am also guilty of indulging in bad pop music from time to time so I can't guarantee that it won't be the latest Justin Timberlake track from time to time.

Either way, music is something that is VERY important to me and thus I figured I ought to start sharing what I'm listening to on a more regular basis. So here it is for today:
